another disappointing outing

I went for my weekly run today (I know, I need to increase the frequency of these), and it went just about as well as last week's run...which did not go well. The main issue today again was lower back pain. I took a different route today and went north on the Towpath Trail, and it seemed a lot less busy (i.e., less bikers). I ended up walking/running about 7 miles, and was pretty tuckered out afterwards, and my feet were actually getting pretty sore. I would guess that I did get my 3+ miles of running in, but not in a manner in which I wanted to. I'm hoping to get another run in sometime this week before my vacation. My training program starts in 3 weeks, and I'm not at the level I should be yet.

not so good to be back

I went for my first run today in two weeks because I had been sick for a while, and the time off took it's toll. I went to the towpath again, and got through about a mile and a half before I needed to walk or have my lungs explode. So I walked the remaining mile to my checkpoint, and then turned around started running back. I think I got about a mile, and then my lower back on my left side started tightening up and I had to stop again. For the remaining mile and a half back to where I started, I did a few sprints and some short jogs before my back tightened up again. So I was able to get at least the 3 miles that I was looking for, but it was definitely not the way I wanted to do it.
